Refugees has difficulties to find a job

When a refugee leaves his country and goes to another one, he needs to start over. One of the challenges is to get a new job. Mayra Prado, coordinator of the LAR, program of Compassiva, said that mos of them has a university education, but when they get in Brazil, can hardly work in their area. One of the obstacles is the prejudice that, according to Mayra, comes from the military dictatorship, “the Brazilian has that idea that the refugee is a fugitive and think that if he’s here, he did something wrong.”

Compassiva became the first NGO from Brazil to revalidate refugees certificates. Before this achievement, the expatriates had the possibility to do this on their own and, but assuming responsability for expenses, that could reach 2 Thousand reais. Six families recieve Baby Shower in Compassiva

On Monday (23) Compassiva made a Baby Showder for syrian families from the LAR program (Levando Ajuda aos Refugiados). Despite the large dissemination by social networks, there were few donations. In total, six children won shampoo, wipes, diapers and cotton. Compassiva volunteers donated food and some foreign visiting Brazil through the ONG 27 Million helped with decoration.
